I saw this around the time it came out on video, so I was about 11/12. I apparently haven’t seen it in over 10 years but I was surprised at how vividly I still remembered it.
I’m not a big fan of ghost stories, usually because they’re all the same and boring as hell. But this film stands out above most. It’s carefully paced, well shot, very atmospheric and brilliantly acted. I usually don’t like Kidman, but this is my favourite of her roles and the girl playing Anne is very good. The scene with her in the veil gives me chills every damn time.
