I like most of these 80s teen comedies, and this is right up the top for me. I don’t think it’s as amazing as I did when I first and last watched it, but it’s still a solid film. It feels very episodic which gives it a slightly detached feel, but it also somehow manages to develop a cast of characters that you feel like you’ve gotten to know and like over the 90 minutes. I think all the subplots are interesting and all the characters are likable to a point and all the actors are very good. The soundtrack is awesome but it does feel like – as do most of these films that do the same thing – it fills in the gaps with a popular song. It does give it a distinctly 80s feel which adds to the mood and tone of the film.
